I babysat my new niece, Haylie, for the first time and was very curious to see how Sunny would react to a baby. Turns out, Sunny loves babies! She wouldn't stop cuddling her, licking her, and tending to her every moment. It almost was too much! I would have to pull Sunny away, because she wanted to curl around Haylie or put her paws and head on her, which I know for a fact are quite heavy. I'm very happy with how it all turned out, and I must say Sunny was very sad when I came back from taking Haylie home and there was no longer a baby in the apartment. The pouting lasted the rest of the evening and a bit into the next day.

Fuzzball

Sunny is growing up so much! She's 44 lbs. now. Can you believe it? So many people say she's huge, but Keyes and I just don't see it. She actually seems quite small. She regularly sits in my lap like a little dog and I occasionally pick her up like a baby. Sunny loves to shred paper and cardboard. It's how she passes her time. In fact, as I write this, she's in the middle of the room, cheerfully tearing up a cardboard box. She seems to understand English perfectly. She also likes to bark for attention. She barks to go potty outside or barks if she wants you to play fetch. She uses her paws like human hands. She wraps them around my ankle if she doesn't want to go back inside yet, she lays on her back and holds her toys like a baby bottle, and uses her paws to carefully move things around. When I get home, she hugs me... honestly hugs me! She is the most popular dog I've ever seen. When we pass other people walking their dogs, the people express dog envy! She quietly watches the world go buy and is the sweetest, most loving, amazing companion. She's the dog of my dreams.
